Each beautiful dichroic glass creation
from The Spirit Dancer is an original handcrafted
work-of-art.
Dichroic glass is produced when thin
layers of metallic oxides are deposited on the surface of glass.
Dichroic glass changes color because some wavelengths of light pass
thru the glass while others are reflected back. You will find yourself
enchanted as you observe this play of light across its surface.
The Spirit Dancer: Dichroic
Glass Creations are made by cutting & layering glass
to a desired design & then kiln-firing. Variations in firing
time & temperature combined with diverse melting points for
the types & colors of glass used cause the resultant product
to be one-of-a-kind. The glass is then shaped & modified. It
may undergo repeated firing before it is ready to be incorporated
into a finished piece. Lastly, it is fire polished to restore its
luster & all finishing work is done to complete the work-of-art.
Clean with mild soap and water or with
a jewelry polishing cloth. Expect oohs. Each elegant work-of-art
cannot be re-created.
